Dr Regina Hurley is an American Board-Certified Anesthesiologist with a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology. Dr Hurley has extensive training in all areas of Anesthesiology from Jackson Memorial Hospital and Miami Childrens Hospital. She has over 20 years of experience in Anesthesia and has maintained active medical licenses to practice in Florida and Texas.
In South Africa, Dr Hurley has continued to provide essential anesthesia services as an HPCSA registered Specialist Anesthesiologist. She worked for the South African government for 12 years training other doctors in anesthesia as the Head of Department of Amajuba District and Director of the Diploma in Anesthesia Program. Her passion and dedication are responsible for numerous junior doctors becoming Specialist Anesthesiologist in South Africa.
Dr Hurley has continued to provide specialized Anesthesia services at Mediclinic Newcastle Private Hospital where she currently practices. She is a member of the Board of Directors, Chairperson of the Hospital Performance Committee, Chairperson of the Covid Task Team and Acting Medical Manager.
As a certified Cannabis Physician, Dr Hurley is passionate about educating the public and other healthcare professionals about the scientific evidence supporting the Medicinal benefits of Cannabis for a multitude of different conditions. She provided one of the first HPCSA approved medical lectures for continuing professional development on “the Science of Medicinal Cannabis” in 2018 and has continued as an advocate for the Medicinal Cannabis Industry Globally. She has been featured on CNN as an official Hemp Researcher. She has been featured in numerous newspaper articles and has been a lecturer and speaker on numerous occasions over the past few years, most recently the Cannabis Expo and the African Hemp Summit.
Dr Hurley’s expertise in Pharmacology and Physiology, her vast clinical knowledge, and her passion for education will enable her to fulfill her main goal which is “affordable and safe medicinal cannabis to all patients worldwide “.
